The aim of the race is to promote public transport integration and encourage the use of public transport to explore and connect across the province.
Teams will follow clues leading them to different checkpoints. The first team to reach the finish line wins an exciting prize.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS - INDEMNITY
- Parental Consent: Entrants under 18 years of age must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before participating.
- Transport Coverage: Gautrain will cover all transport costs during the race, from the starting line to the finish line and return. Participants are responsible for their own travel to the starting line.
- Permitted Modes of Transport: Participants may use the following public transport options during the race: Gautrain and PRASA trains, buses, minibus taxis, Gautrain midibuses, and tuk-tuk.
- Prohibited Modes of Transport: The use of e-hailing services or metered taxis is strictly prohibited.
- Transport Usage Guidelines: Participants may not request drivers of approved public transport modes to wait for them or provide direct, private transportation to specific locations. All travel must take place along regular public transport routes, with no special arrangements.
- Safety and Conduct: Participants must adhere to all public transport safety regulations. Any misconduct, including harassment or unsafe behaviour, will result in removal from the event.
- Rule Compliance: Participants must follow the designated checkpoints and complete tasks as instructed. Any deviation from the prescribed route or use of unauthorised transport will result in disqualification. The race is timed; the fastest team to complete all checkpoints correctly wins.
- Determining the Winner: The first team to arrive at the finish line - while adhering to all rules, and terms and conditions - will be declared the winner.
- Liability: Gautrain shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during the event.
- Media and Promotion: By entering, participants consent to the use of their names, images, and any photos or videos taken during the event for promotional purposes by Gautrain, without royalty payments or additional compensation.
- Data Protection: By enrolling in the race, participants agree to Gautrain collecting and processing personal information for participant management, safety, and event logistics before, during, and after the event. Data will be stored securely and processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
- Acknowledgment: Participation in the Competition constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- Right to Amend: Gautrain reserves the right to amend, cancel, suspend, or terminate the race at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, including safety concerns or public transport disruptions, without prior notice. Terms and conditions may be modified or revised at the organiser’s discretion; participants are responsible for regularly reviewing updates to ensure compliance.
- General Compliance: All standard Gautrain rules, as well as the rules governing the use of each transport mode, must be observed throughout the race.
