Race day is here! Leave the traffic and parking stress behind and make your way to the Waterfall City Half Marathon with Gautrain. As the official mobility partner, Gautrain will help you get to and from the race on Saturday, 12 September 2026.

How to Get to and from the Event

Step 1: If you are parking at a Gautrain station, press the button at the parking boom gate to collect a paper parking ticket.

Step 2: Participants wearing an official race number will receive a FREE Gautrain card from promoters at the station. Cards are only available for issuance from 04:30 to 06:30

Step 3: Travel by Gautrain to the designated station and follow event signage to the dedicated Gautrain buses, which will transport participants directly to the race start area.

Step 4: After completing the marathon, board the dedicated Gautrain buses back to the station and continue your journey home by Gautrain.

Step 5: Your Gautrain card includes your return trip and parking (parking costs listed below)

  • R10 when using the train to Midrand Station from other stations
  • R135 if parking at Midrand Station

When exiting the parking area, insert your paper parking ticket and tap your Gautrain card to complete the process.

Note - Lost cards

If you lose your Waterfall City Half Marathon complimentary Gautrain card during the race, Gautrain will unfortunately not be able to replace the card. Any additional train fare and parking costs incurred for your return journey will be for your own account.
