Our theme for Transport Month this October is “Smart mobility: maintaining sustainable partnerships”, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport.
We have a number of events and activations lined up to highlight the importance of sustainable transport options such as the Gautrain. This includes presenting our virtual Public Transport Knowledge Seminar series and hosting pop-up vaccination sites at our stations.
Join us as together, we #MoveForChange!
Vaccination Fridays in October
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (GDRT) is running a Vaccination Fridays campaign throughout October. As part of our contribution to helping South Africa recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure that as many people as possible are vaccinated, in partnership with the GDRT, we are hosting pop-up vaccination sites at the following Gautrain stations:
- Pretoria station – 15 October 2021, 9am to 3pm
- Park station – 29 October 2021, 9am to 3pm
Please help us spread the word!
We are proud that the Gautrain is a forerunner in promoting smart mobility in South Africa, helping to reduce road congestion, harmful carbon dioxide emissions as well as noise pollution by providing a cleaner, greener public transport option.
Did you know that the transport sector is responsible for 18% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions? That’s why we need smart rail transport solutions like the Gautrain.
We save you time and productivity, while being kinder to the planet!
Social investment programmes
The Gautrain Management Agency is committed to playing a meaningful role in society, not only through our operations but also through our social investment interventions.
We build partnerships with our communities that are anchored in our values of caring, excellence, learning and leadership. Our social investment programme focus areas are education, community care and the environment.
This month, we shine the spotlight on four of our social investment beneficiaries that are improving the lives of vulnerable children, disadvantaged communities and inner-city dwellers: Afrika Tikkun, the Tomorrow Trust, Mould Empower Serve and Rays of Hope.
We look forward to forging more such sustainable partnerships!
Public Transport Knowledge Seminar series
This year’s GMA Public Transport Knowledge Seminar again takes the form of a webinar, with the theme “Innovation and problem-solving”, to be held virtually over two days on 28 and 29 October 2021 from 10am to 12.30pm.
The first virtual event will see leading innovators discussing their approach to problem-solving, and how they are creating solutions to transform their respective industries. The second event will guide participants through a problem-solving framework to apply innovation to a real problem faced in the public transport sector.
